Overview

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading Human Resources operations and translating business priorities into effective people programs and workforce initiatives. The position oversees key HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, performance management, compliance, employee development, and workforce planning.
Working in partnership with business leaders, the Human Resources Manager identifies workforce needs, supports organizational effectiveness, and implements talent strategies that drive employee engagement, capability development, and business performance. The role ensures operational excellence while contributing to strategic workforce planning and providing guidance on people-related decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities

(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day Human Resources operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, employment regulations, and internal controls.

  • Manage payroll administration processes and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of employee compensation and related records.

  • Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition activities including workforce requisitions, candidate selection, offer administration, onboarding, and hiring process governance.

  • Support employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and policy interpretation, escalating complex issues as appropriate.

  • Ensure HR systems, employee records, organizational data, and reporting processes are maintained accurately and efficiently.

  • Supervise and develop HR team members by establishing clear expectations, coaching performance, and supporting professional development.

  • Develop and implement workforce planning strategies to support current and future business requirements.

  • Analyze recruiting effectiveness, workforce trends, and talent needs to improve staffing outcomes and organizational capability.

  • Lead initiatives to strengthen talent acquisition processes, candidate experience, and hiring governance practices.

  • Partner with leadership teams to identify critical talent gaps and develop sustainable talent pipeline strategies.

  • Oversee onboarding, employee development, and performance management processes to improve workforce effectiveness and retention.
  • Participate in compensation reviews and workforce planning activities to support internal equity, market competitiveness, and business objectives.

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and programs related to talent acquisition, compensation, onboarding, and workforce management.

  • Evaluate existing HR processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, compliance, and employee experience.

  • Lead HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that align people strategies with organizational goals.

  • Build collaborative relationships with managers and business leaders to understand workforce challenges and provide practical HR guidance.

  • Support organizational effectiveness by aligning people practices with operational and business priorities.

  • Provide workforce-related insights and recommendations to leadership to support informed business decisions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of business and people initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:   Yes Approximately eight (8) Human Resources Team Members

 

Qualifications

(The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

 

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive Human Resources experience across multiple HR disciplines, including Human Resources Operations, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Employee Relations, Performance Management, or Workforce Planning.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Human Resources Manager or equivalent people leadership role with direct responsibility for leading HR functions, programs, processes, and team members.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and improving HR policies, programs, or procedures related to talent acquisition, workforce management, compensation, or employee development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to manage recruiting, hiring, orientation, and training processes
  • Must be able to interpret and to apply current employment law principles
  • Ability to develop, implement, and manage strategic plans
  • Ability to establish performance expectations, develop, motivate, and inspire Team Members to achieve sound business results
  • Must be goal oriented, customer focused, and results driven
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field
  • SHRM or HRCI Professional Certification
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems, SAP preferred
  • Departmental budgeting experience
  • Experience with Succession Planning Systems
  • Previous experience with progressive disciplinary processes
  • Previous HR experience in a fast paced industrial manufacturing environment

  • None required
