Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced environment at Hyundai Mobis. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to our general counsel and ensure compliance with the legal standards, policies, and regulations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.) 

  • General Legal/Compliance Administration Duties (including Handling accounting for expenses incurred in the office, Performing administrative tasks, Assisting with legal office work, Acting as a secretary for lawyers)
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and organization of legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Maintain an organized filing systems for legal documents, ensuring easy accessibility and confidentiality,
  • Assist in the drafting and editing of legal correspondence and reports.
  • Help monitor compliance with federal, state, and local regulations relating to warehouse operations.
  • Update legal compliance documentation and ensure all records are current and accurate.
  • Support General Counsel in conducting compliance audits and risk assessments.
  • Conduct legal research on various topics relevant to warehouse operations, including regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Summarize finding and present them to General counsel or any other counsel in an organized format.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Corporate Legal department at MCCA and other departments within the warehouse, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes for legal discussions.
  • Support General Counsel or any other counsels during legal proceedings, including document preparation and organization for hearing, mediation or arbitrations.
  • Track deadlines and maintain legal calendars to ensure timely filings and compliance with court requirements.
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of training materials related to legal compliance and best practices within the warehouse.
  • Participate in training sessions to ensure staff understands legal policies and procedures.

Qualifications

(The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

 

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, paralegal studies or Related Field
  • 3-5 years preferred experience in related field.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proven knowledge of the Legal field
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally and to explain legal issues to all levels of management
  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role, preferably within a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Willing to collaborate, share knowledge, respond quickly to urgent matters, and execute proactively. 
  • Ability to understand and embrace the company's core values, corporate goals, mission, and priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and regulations is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: 

Paralegal Certificate preferred, Bilingual (Korean) preferred

 

Working Conditions: Office setting, some walking within and between buildings, some traveling to Mobis entities in the U.S
